This is a specialized blog for health and well-being. Let me suggest something out of the blue to all you middle-aged folks: why not start running? You don’t have to declare it to anyone, because intentions can change, and it’s perfectly fine to come back to it later if you give it up once or twice. So, let’s set a big goal: “marathon.” Who complaints? It’s all up to you, and in the near future, make sure to complete a major marathon in your living area. Believe me, your world will change if you do. Trust me, it’s okay, you can start now. When I was young, I had a reasonable amount of confidence in my physical fitness. But as life’s priorities shifted, maintaining physical health often took a back seat. I think we’re all in the same boat, and given the timing of life, it’s unavoidable. The past can be changed. Well. I’m a strange guy. And a strange man says so “your Past can be changed” First, forgive yourself for being that way in the past. If you don’t forgive the past, you won’t change for the better in the future. This is an algebra. Algebras. And from now on, you can take your time to change. Life is always a game of rock-paper-scissors after the fact. You’ll definitely win.
I myself was a beginner in marathons, and I started running in my age 50s. I’m probably not much different from you in five years ago. The trigger was receiving a digital watch from Huawei, believe it or not. That’s it. (Now I’ve upgraded to a serious Garmin purchase, haha).
I think that running really leads to overall health. Fukuzawa Yukichi also emphasizes the importance of “physical education.” At first, your knees will hurt, shin splints will occur, and your lower back will ache. But you won’t die. You’ll keep improving day by day. Humanity really has no limits. It’s amazing.
Just enjoy running in a relaxed way. And rest is incredibly important. Exercise builds strength when you rest, so having a cycle of properly resting after either intense or light training is crucial. Especially for middle-aged individuals, it’s not the same as when we were young. I believe that basic advice can be given in a supportive manner, so please take it into consideration. Let’s have fun together.
By the way, my marathon personal best is 3 hours and 41 minutes (Nara), and my current VO2MAX value is 55. Not bad, right? Humanity is an endlessly creative force.
Now, I’ll be posting unique training tips in line with the keywords. I have confidence that at least all of you can reach the values mentioned above, because I did it myself. Hooray for middle-aged folks! Have a great day!
